What an evening we had when were were joined by our good friend Josh (@smilinggrim) for this months fabulous feast of films.

First up was a beautifully made movie which won the oscar for ‘Best Achievement in Visual Effects’. Presumably that was to make some of the acting look a little less wooden. Did it work and was it deserved of it’s award? Let us know as we review The Golden Compass.

“In a parallel universe, young Lyra Belacqua journeys to the far North to save her best friend and other kidnapped children from terrible experiments by a mysterious organization. “

I had to choose something absolutely amazing to finish the night off with as I was pretty sure of the reactions I would get from our first movie. To that end, I searched through my old vault of videos and came up with a classic of the cinema, David Cronemburg’s Videodrome. I first saw this as a kid and it had quite an impact. What would we all think after watching it now?
